How to find your ring size at home
Jewelship Editorial
What you need
A strip of paper or a piece of non-stretchy thread, a pen and a ruler that shows millimetres.
Step by step
- Wrap the paper or thread around the base of the finger you will wear the ring on.
- Mark the point where the end meets the rest of the strip.
- Lay it flat and measure the length in millimetres. This is the circumference of your finger.
- Compare that measurement with the size guide on the product page.
Tips for a better measurement
- Measure at the end of the day. Fingers are slightly larger in the evening and when warm.
- Avoid measuring when your hands are cold, as they shrink.
- Measure two or three times and use the average.
- If you are between sizes, or the ring has a wide band, choose the larger size. A wide band fits more snugly than a narrow one.
The knuckle test
A ring must pass over your knuckle and still sit securely at the base of the finger. If your knuckle is much larger than the base of your finger, choose a size that slides over the knuckle with slight resistance.
