Privacy Policy
How we handle your personal information
Introduction
Jewelship respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit our website, create an account or place an order, how we use it, who we share it with and the choices you have. By using our website you agree to the practices described here. This policy is written in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable Indian law.
What we collect
We collect the information you give us: your name, email address, phone number, delivery and billing addresses, order history, wishlist and any messages you send us. If you subscribe to our newsletter we collect your email address, and if you opt in to WhatsApp updates we use your phone number for that purpose. We also collect limited technical information, such as your device and browser type, to keep the site secure and working.
We do not collect or store your full card details. Payments are handled by our payment provider.
How we use your information
We use your information to create and manage your account, process and deliver your orders, take payment, send order confirmations and shipping updates, provide customer support, prevent fraud and meet our legal and tax obligations. With your consent we also send newsletters and offers. You can withdraw that consent at any time.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us run the store, and only what they need: Razorpay for payments, delivery partners to ship your order, our email and messaging providers to send notifications, and our cloud hosting, authentication and database providers. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our rights.
Cookies and local storage
We use only what the site needs to work: browser storage to remember your cart and to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies or sell data to advertisers.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as long as the law requires us to retain order and tax records. When we no longer need it, we delete or anonymise it.
Security
We protect your information with encrypted connections, restricted access and secure infrastructure. No system is completely secure, so please keep your password private and tell us straight away if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
Your rights
You may ask to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, and you may withdraw consent for marketing or other optional uses at any time. You may also nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf if you are unable to. To make a request, or if you have a concern or complaint about how your data is handled, write to us at the email address shown at the bottom of every page and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Children
Our website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 without the consent of a parent or guardian.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always available on this page, and significant changes will be highlighted on our website.
